There’s a Shrimp Sale at The Crab Crib!

There's a Shrimp Sale at The Crab Crib. No, Really, There Is!

No, Really, There’s a Shrimp Sale at The Crab Crib…A Year-Round Sale.

Like many others, Jennifer & I have been sucked in to the podcast, Serial. In Episode 5, host Sarah Koenig’s producer Dana Chivvis mentioned ‘There’s a Shrimp Sale at the Crab Crib’, which quickly turned into a meme, spawning t-shirts and Reddit threads.

A little internet searching turned up that there really is a Crab Crib, and there really is a Shrimp Sale…except that it’s year-round. So is it really a sale if it’s year-round?

Anyway, The Crab Crib is only about a 15 minute drive from us, so we decided to hop in the car and head there for lunch.

Upon walking in, we quickly realized this is a takeout-only operation, as there is no seating area. For quicker pick-up, you can call in your order ahead of time. We grabbed a menu and quickly settled on 2 Shrimp Cheesesteaks, Hush Puppies and Cole Slaw. Our total was $27, quite reasonable for the amount of food we received. After we placed our order, we checked out the many fresh seafood items for sale while waiting for our food. Everything looked fresh and reasonably priced, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially when explaining the Crab Fluff on the menu.

We were impressed at how large the cheesesteaks were, and how much shrimp was inside. Sometimes, you get skimped on the amount of seafood you get…but not at The Crab Crib. The cheesesteak was huge, cheesy and delicious.

Thanks to Sarah Koenig and Serial for introducing us to The Crab Crib – we’ll definitely be back for that Shrimp Sale. 😉

Charcuterie Board at La Fromagerie

An Ode to La Fromagerie

I found La Fromagerie by accident…a Happy Accident. I was on the hunt for my favorite cheese: Hook’s 15 Year Cheddar. It’s made in scarce quantities and is notoriously hard to find. If you’re a Cheddar fan, this cheese is the Holy Grail: intense, complex, sublime. The first time I[…]
